I am now a proud surplus employee for the State of California. Governor Jerry decided to remove all funding for the department I work at. Starting July 22 I have 120 days to find another state job. If I don’t find anything, I could apply for unemployment. We surplus workers supposedly have a near-guarantee for any state job that calls us for an interview.
